Daesung lookalike!

I effing WISH I had a camera now. I'm at my local McDonald's and this guy came in looking EXACTLY like Daesung. Even the built of his body (although Daesung looks more buff ^^) and the colour/style of his hair is the same!!!

Owh Good Lord, please let a G-Dragon, Taeyang or TOP lookalike come through this door too. Amen.

Daesung was in an accident!!!

OMG!!! I just found out!!

Check this out if you guys wanna know more --> Daesung in Car Accident. Poor poor thing. I hope he gets better. Big Bang is nothing without his super fine vocals. Dammit. Cars are dangerous! Bikes are dangerous! Roads are dangerous!

G-dragon's solo album

You guys all know how much I love this boy ^^

He's coming out with his solo album come August 16th (which is incidentally his birthday too) and I have been waiting since last year ever since rumours were flying in the Kpop world about it. Finally!!!!!!!

You can hear previews of his song on Youtube or his Me2day account (a Korean version of Twitter) and OMG!!! I love the song "The Leaders (Wussup)" Its a collabo between him, Teddy from 1TYM (another person I would love to procreate with) and CL (only if I was gay Xp). The song is effing sick!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!! I'm super excited!! CL, GD, and Teddy together!!!!! Aaaaaaaaaah!!!

Rant on Music Purists: Korean v American Music

I don't normally rant that often. Well, not here anyway. I find more satisfaction speaking my thoughts out and including swear words whenever I rant. But today I've decided to make an exception.

I basically get annoyed at purists and their holier-than-thou attitude when talking about music. It seems that unless a certain genre is done a certain way, then anything else besides that is a simply unacceptable and lame. I seem to come across it more often than not whenever I read comments on music websites *sigh* Why can't we agree to disagree that there is more than one specific genre of music out there and it CAN be mixed or varied or changed depending on the taste of the artist or the audience?

Example in case would be Big Bang and their concept of hip-hop/pop/techno/whatever you wish to categorize them and how it differs from that of the American/English music scene.

It annoys me to a certain extent when people randomly point out that 50 cent is thug and Big Bang is not. Cos yes, they are not 50 cent/Lil Wayne/insert name of any American rapper here. They didn't get shot a gazillion times in their body. They didn't live on the streets. There was no history of discrimination. They don't carry guns and they are not scared that they might get shot by a passing car (I'm aware that I'm generalizing here) So how do you expect them to behave and act the way their American counterparts act?

If purists can't stand the music, don't listen to it. Change the channel. There are a gazillion artists out there. If you can compare them and critic them saying that isn't the way their supposed to act/sing, then you can go find and artist who fits your taste and your needs. Support them and buy their album. Show them that you like their music and that there is a market for them (But I swear, once some of these artists get famous, these purists would turn their backs on the artist they like and label them as sell outs just cos they're now being liked by the masses...*sigh* they can never be pleased) I mean, constructive criticism is good if its focused on the artists themselves and their music. Bad lyrics are bad in whatever language it is. Lame beats are lame in whatever genre it is. Say it and end it there. Don't act all high and mighty saying that the way they act/sing/compose/write is wrong and not "true" hip hop.

My take on it is that it isn't really fair to compare them (or any other korean or foriegn rappers/hip hop acts) with English/American rappers. The similarities are there but the music industry, the history, the society, the language, the culture, their influences and their experiences are vastly different from the English/American side. You can’t expect them to be gangsters/thugs/street/whatever exactly the way the English/Americans are when the concept itself doesn’t even have its roots in Korean culture or society. I'm sure 50 cent would rather shoot himself than bow to Kanye West and call him "Sunbaenim" (an honourific given by younger Koreans to those who are senior then them in the same business) or vice versa whilst Big Bang would probably be the first to bow and do that whenever they meet any senior artist regardless of who it was in the Korean music industry. Hip hop in Korean is basically a borrowed/transplanted concept and can be changed, varied and butchered however much they want it to be to suit theirs/audience/society’s taste.

Phew. That was a long one. Constructive comments/opinions would be appreciated.

Tae Yang [Hot - Solo Concert] - My Girl

Oh.

My.

God.

I want to be floor dammit!!!!!! I WANT TO BE THE FLOOR!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh good lord. Have mercy on me. Starting from 3:02, I lost all ability to think.

No wonder the concert was for those 18 and above *fans herself*

I'm sorry TOP, but until you remove your shirt and proceed with the EPIC performance that was Taeyang just now, you've just been demoted to the second person in line I wish to procreate with.

Edit: He even had the cheek to ask the audience whether they were happy to be there after seeing that! Honey, I could have been robbed and murdered after seeing that and I'd still die with a smile on my face.

Taeyang v Jaebeom

There's a war going on over at Seoulbeats. It's the ultimate battle between the hottness(s) that is Taeyang and Jaebeom. Both are the smex and since I personally fangirl over both, I had to think about this question long and hard........

I chose Taeyang Xp Man is just ooooooozzzziiinnnngggg hotness!

Ooooooh~ Chest pump! The ultimate sex dance move. Same goes for hip thrusts Xp

*Le sigh*

Anyways, best comment was by pabo ceo reom --> "I would procreate with either one". Bwuahahahahahaha!!

Yes I waste my life/time away by reading comments on gossip blogs and also Youtube. Definitely Youtube. I hate long stories, so funny oneliners and comments make my day. Besides, you read the funniest, craziest shit there sometimes Xp

TOP

TOP sweaty? Oooooooh~ Me likessss *Spaazzzzzzes*

Aaaaaah~ My No. 1 Korean obsession. It's no secret that I have a major huge crush on Mr. TOP here and I basically combust into tiny little pieces of heaven everytime he speaks cos his voice is just soo *^&#*&&^*%&^$!!! I can't even form coherent sentences to explain how much I.WANT.HIM.
And since I can't seem to write anything about TOP without forgetting my own name or going into a semi-comatose state of me imagining that I am indeed going to have his babies, I suggest you read this article on Seoulbeats ---> "An Open Letter: TOP, I Like The Way You Work It..." which basically sums up the story of my life...with TOP Xp

Note: Just substitute the word "brunch" with "use your freaking imagination!!" and Black with Malay/Asian.

Thank you very much and have a nice day everyone!

It's out!!! 2NE1's debut single is out!!!

Shit!!!

They have more attitude than all the other Korean girl groups out there now COMBINED. Damn...wooot! I love CL (the leader). She's only 19 but I saw a clip of her rapping during YG Family's show at the SBS Music Festival in 2007 and thought she was the shit. Yaaaaay! Finally she debuted!! About damn time girl!

This is the Space version of the MV.

And this is the Street version of the MV.

credit: pocketfulofsmiles @ YT

I liked the space version more rather than the street version (although Park Bom's rabbit ears has got to go) cos eventhough the street version had GDragon in a cameo (he produced the album for them. The guy needs to put out a solo album fast!) and it was overflowing with attitude but the clothes they wore were just.......epic fail T_T Well, except for CL's hot hot jacket and Minji's clothes the others were just...fail.

But gaaaah! I love them!!! I can't imagine SNSD or the Wonder Girls pulling anything like this off. Or heaven forbid Kara..yuck. The only redeeming quality about that group is Nicole just cos she's freaking cute in Star Golden Bell.

And when you get stressed...

you spazz yourself stupid my friends Xp

I'm in the midst of my finals and as of right now I could give a flying fuck about it.

I've been watching this for oh...2 hours straight. His CD has been playing in my car non-stop since the end of last year...and urgh! I WANT him.

Taeyang, is like chocolate. Smooth, delicious and soo damn fiiiinnneeee. And this version of Naman Barabwa is amazing. I love the piano bit like LOVE it and then the dance then the whole ripping of his shirt thing *dies in a pool of fire* Its like a slow slow build up of urgh! Me waaaaaaant!!

Why GD? Why??!

I love you G-Dragon. I would have your babies right this minute if you asked me too. You know I would. But wtf is going on with your hair??! I mean, seriously...what in God's name made you go from hot-badass-half-mohawk-I-totally-want-to-rape-you hair (see below) to that (see above)?? T_T

I couldn't
even bear to post a solo pic of you alone with that hair. I had to put TOP in it just so I could look at my own blog and not cringe. Why GD? Whhhhhhyyyyy???

Random Fact(s) #4

Soo I'm bored outta my mind right now. Bleh. Anyhoo, here are just some random facts about moi again (Yes, I know I'm narcissistic but I assume anybody who writes a personal blog for no good cause or money is though).

So here are My Top 3 whatevers ^^ (although none of them are in any particular order)

Top 3 things that made me happy:

Hmmm, I'm gonna repharase this to top 3 things that made me happy this month instead.

1. Seeing the weird guy painted in white with a red bob cut wig and figurines on top of his head while wearing a wedding dress backwards at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC) Open Day a couple of weeks ago.

2. When I bought THE perfect black dress yesterday which was on sale i.e. dirt cheap! I kid you not. Buying things which I want with a price tag that won't make me feel guilty makes me immensely happy. Its a different feeling than when you buy clothes that are just a reduced amount i.e. from RM 500 to RM 250 but still super expensive for someone who doesn't earn any income. I usually just feel guilty, stupid and cheated after I buy it unless its something I've been keeping my eye on and I've been waiting for the price to go down. Its a whole different story if it was my parents paying for it and they gave it to me as a gift or something. They work (hard) and therefore have the extra money to spend. I empahsize the word "extra" here cos there is no way in hell would they spend that much money on a piece of cloth for me unless they had extra cash coming in from somewhere other than their normal paychecks.

3. I found a store that sells Big Bang stuff right here in KL!! Hell yeah!! Looks like I'm gonna have to starve (and in the process loose weight...hopefully) for the next couple of months to buy me those DVDs >_< I swear Japanese and Korean CDs and DVDs are the most expensive things ever!

Top 3 things that MAKE me happy every.single.freaking.time:

1. Sparkly jewels. I'm not talking about jewellery like bracelets, necklaces or rings but the stones themselves i.e. diamonds, rubies (my favourite), sapphires, emeralds etc. Bring me to a jewellery shop and let me ogle at all the sparkly jewels and I'll be content.

2. New music.

3. Super fast internet.

Top 3 CDs:

At the moment its,

1. Taeyang's Hot mini album.

2. Paramore's Riot

3. Garbage's Absolute Garbage.

Top 3 places/cities/countries I've ever visited and why:

1. Tokyo cos its got lots of weird people, weird shops, weird clothes, weird buildings, weird everything!

2. Prague. Beautiful. Enough said.

3. Every island I've ever been in Malaysia. Ditto on the above answer.

Top 3 things that piss me off the most:

1. Unbehaved children in public. Where are the parents and what are they doing? Seriously, I sometimes wonder whether these people are raring animals or raising children.

2. Waking up in the mornings. I wake up bad tempered. All the time. Everytime. If I smile in the morning, it means I either had a wicked dream or I'm faking it.

3. No internet.

Top 3 things that I want right now:

1. A neck brace.

2. A new (cheap) black cardigan.

3. The Big Bang concert DVDs

or alternatively

1. TOP tied to my bed

2. GDragon to take me out shopping and then he can also join TOP on my bed. But not necessarily with each other in the gay sense of the word.

3. Taeyang there. Here. Anywhere.

4. Apparently a bigger bed now.

Top 3 5 things that attract me to a person (guys and girls):

1. Wit and sarcasm.

2. Looks and demenour (although I get over it pretty quickly if they don't have a personality I like).

3. Confidence (in the appropriate time and place) and street smart (they've got to go hand in hand). Not book smart. I don't give a fuck if you can memorize the fucking encyclopedia and dictionary plus you read the Times. Its how you use what you learn and then apply it in real life which will make me sit up and take notice. Huge difference between those two and arrogance or just plain showing off.

4. I'm on a roll here. Screw the Top 3. I'm attracted to people that have limits and boundaries. They can test their limits but never go beyond it. Don't ask me why. I just like a person who can say "No. I won't do this or I can't do this because I'm not allowed to/its just wrong/its irresponsible." Its different from someone who says they can't do something cos they're too selfish or they're fucking lazy to do it or someone who has no imagination to get something done or achieve their goals.

5. Good table manners.

Top 3 things I regret:

1. I didn't save a cent of my college loan but spent it buying useless things I didn't even need when I could have invested it or saved a quarter of it (and more actually), add it to my savings account and watch it multiply at the end of the year. At least, if I needed extra money, I have it and also I could have used it to pay back the loan instead of relying fully on my (as yet to get) paycheck. I am such a glutton. Why is it that we always brush off what our parents or teachers used to say to us when we were kids till it's too late? I had one that always used to remind the students by saying "bersyukurlah dengan apa yang kita ada, jangan membazir dan janganlah jadi tamak haloba" (translation: appreciate what you have, don't be wasteful and greedy) while my parents keep on telling me to save and live within my means i.e. don't overspend when you know you can't afford it in the first place because they're not gonna be there forever to bail me out when I need help.

2. That I used my hormones and stress (PMS etc.) during my late teens til now as an excuse to laze, be moody and eat to such an extent that it has become a habit (which I'm having trouble shaking off now *sigh*).

3. That I didn't bother to try hard enough in school or university.

*le sigh*

It's All About the Gee's

The year of the Ox has brought me goood cheers. Why do I say this? Cos some heaven sent angel Jae has uploaded the WHOLE of Big Bang's Stand Up concert in Japan on YT. I now get to see the whole perf of the song "It's All About the Gee's" (I posted a fancam of it some months ago here...) which is the SEX! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~!

Credits: jaeurazn1live@YT

Edit: Fuck. What the? T_T

I have been cheated!! Cheated I tell you!! GDragon! You're supposed to pull Taeyang's t-shirt up for me to ogle!!! Not just molest his sexshay body!! Molest is good but pulling his shirt up is better!!!!! Dammit!! Why did you not pull it up here?!! I know you pulled it up at the other concert!!! I have proof!! I have pics!! I downloaded a fucking fancam of it!!! Also damn you cameraman!! Why did you not focus on the dance properly. It was hot!! HOT I tell you!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

As a consolation though, Daesung was hot here. I didn't know before cos I haven't seen any fancams of him performing this. But ooooh yeaah, he was hot and sweaty here~ ^^

Would you be Influenced?

I'm not the type that gets influenced by ads on the telly, radio or magazines. In fact I usually (ok, more like always) change the channel if an ad is on the telly/radio and for magazines I just don't seem to notice them at all. It's just a matter of me flipping right through them. I don't know why but there has yet to be an ad which has made me sit up and take notice. No wait, there was one, I think it was a Nokia ad on TV which I thought was super pretty. But then, the ad didn't really work on me cos I can't remember the name of the product and I don't like Nokia phones (so the ad definitely wasn't going to help me change my mind into liking any Nokia phones nor did it influence me into buying said phone). I just thought the ad had nice music and pretty graphics.

I do however take notice if I happen to see a model, actor/actress or musician in it that I like. But still, I've never yet bought anything which said actress/actor, model or musician is hawking on TV, radio or in magazines. Occasionally though, I do get turned off if by certain products if I don't like the person hawking said product. For example anything that Paris Hilton is hawking turns me off completely and I don't care whether the product is good or not, I will usually just stay away from anything with her name attached to it. Even the Hilton hotels are losing their novelty for me just because of her (I still don't get why a rich amateur porn star can get that much attention).

But, there is a difference however in me liking said actor/actress or whomever is in the ad. I will probably cut the ad out or download it later for more ogling but the product in which said person is hawking is usually of no interest to me...

However, that's all about to change now. Behold Big Bang and their dastardly hold on my mind, body and soul me.

Credits: elaisvip@Youtube

The ad hurts my eyes just cos of its rainbow vomit inducing colours. It's as if they're trying to make it seem like I'm watching it while on acid. Plus the name of the phone is just...lame. I mean the LG Cyon Ice Cream phone? *rolls eyes* Sheesh. Couldn't the people at LG find a cooler name? I mean, I seriously would not pay the person who made this name up...not one cent.

But...still...somehow...I want this phone that they are hawking. Like I want this phone dammit! My mind is now being all irrational telling me that with this phone I WILL be one step closer to Big Bang...>_<

Even their ads for the LG Cyon Edge phone (watch it here) or all the other stuff they've hawked (FILA, Baskin Robbins etc) before didn't make me feel this way and those ads were much much cooler! So what is it about this ad that makes me want the phone dammit???!

Aaaaaarghh! Help! @_@

My blogging spree

You're probably wondering why I have been bloggin like mad these past few days (I think I did like 4 posts in a day when I usually do 4 posts in a month...) and no its not because my muse has decided to stay with me nor is it because of any fancy new years resolution. I do have some, but none of them are "good" per say therefore I will not tell you in case little kids read my blog (There is a limit to how much I can say and I'm already guilty of constantly talking about sex and using swear words as it is anyway...) The reason being is because I can't download anything. Period. Like nothing. I mean, there were some stuff (small apps) but only because I had to keep retrying it like a gazillion times.

My ISP has been having some dificulties (something about broken underwater cables) therefore my connection keeps getting cut. Its ok for certain things but for downloads, it sucks. I don't use torrents therefore I can't just continue my downloads if it gets cut. I have to start from the beginning. Its downright frustrating cos I need my dose of high quality (I don't bother with low quality stuff) Big Bang videos! I neeeeeeeeeed them! (Mostly all the end of the year perfs and also Seungri's solo stuff) Plus, I'm sick right now (sore throat, fever blah blah blah) and cranky thus, the only thing that would make me happy is watching Big Bang in full screen rap, sing, moan, dance, smile, laugh, prance around (preferbly in their birthday suits which will probably never happen but a girl can wish right?) etc.

So basically all I've been doing is twittering around on blogger and blogging my frustrations away, hence fulfilling the aptly named title of my blog i.e. i am blogging when I'm bored and frustrated.

G-dragon is a genius!

This entry just shows how freakin awesome G-dragon is. It was posted by Kim In Ah's blog on her Minihompy Diary (kinda like the Korean version of Myspace) titled “Kwon Ji Yong – The Young Little Genius”. Btw, Kwon Ji Young is G-dragon's real name. Kim In Ah is a songwriter who has worked with G-dragon on some songs before.

BIG BANG fansite has put up the translated version of it. I'm gonna just gonna post some of the parts that I like. You can read the full interview here.

Forgive the
English. I think they translated it literally off the Korean version, but its still quite good. Better than other translated articles I've read before. The italics are the original version and the bold non-italics are me commenting.

"Honestly I have not witnessed many incidences of kids recording and such for themselves because they all do it nowadays, but the few episodes I’ve witnessed all had me leaving thinking ‘Ah, Ji Yong is a geniusㅜㅜ.’

Personally, I think if Young Bae (Taeyang) was the person who made an unexpected ‘He had this kind of side to him?’-ish impact after Big Bang’s debut (when she said 'unexpected', you betcha, I mean, how freakin hot was he during his solo?), Ji Yong was the member who, from the beginning, gave the feeling that ‘First off, Big Bang will get big because of him.’

His ‘sense’ [T/A: or good judgement], which I often even wrote about passionately in my diary, is more and more surprising if you view its course, and it has the greatest edge that even I, who have worked with him for a little bit, am proud of.

Yang president (the head of the entertaiment company that Big Bang is under), who detected his ‘sense’ early, would carelessly give Ji Yong a track, regardless of his schedule, and say ‘Make up a melody for this~ so we can sing it tomorrow’ or ‘Write lyrics for this~ Oh yeah, we’re going to record it later tonight,’ making him do things that were near impossible.

When I would enter the recording studio thinking it’s impossible, of course, he would rarely have the lyrics written in advance or something along those lines. (I don't quite get this. Maybe she/he meant he "would already have the lyrics written in advance"?)

He would grumble at Yang president’s difficult requests and would sit lazily almost as if he’s lying down, saying things like ‘Yeh baybee’ and ‘Yo, dis iz show time’ to himself, making raps. Then he would suddenly go in the recording studio and smoothly work things out. The melody lines and raps he produces, while sitting in his many unique positions, are truly artwork. (I think this is my favourite part. I mean, I can actually picture G-dragon doing this).

Especially, in ‘Anystar’’s (Lee Hyo Ri Feat. Lee Jun Ki) case, which sadly wasn’t released formally, it includes Ji Yong’s ‘cooly’ reinterpreted rap that may have even more or less embarrassed Lee Jun Ki if he had heard it in person. He made that on the spot as well, and watching that magnificent rap be made in an instant, I, who have a producer as a husband, almost drooled from desiring him. ㅡㅠㅡ (Lol!! Geeez, I hope the translater was right in translating this cos its making me lmao. Drooled from desiring him...lol!)

His work speed is very fast, and the way he directs people, whether they’re older or younger, without being coldhearted is very marvelous. Seeing what I wrote, it’s almost on a fanfic level (I think he/she meant to say that its very long), but I can’t help it. Even now, every time I see Big Bang come out, I hold onto my husband and compliment Ji Yong, and he gets a bit annoyed. (Girl definately loves GD Xp)

Maybe the only thing he still lacks is the skill of making tracks or accompaniments. However, in today’s trend where a shot of ‘sense’ is more important than a magnificent arrangement, Ji Yong is truly the gem of all gems. If you add track-making skill on top of what he already has, he can become a true musician for not only years from now on but in the long run.

Strangely, Yang president always cared about the way his trainees dressed, and a lot of times I thought ‘Why is that important.’ But, I think I know why now. Strangely, the ‘sense’ in dressing well appears when making music too. ‘Sense’ is not prominent in only one place. Singing well and dancing well can be developed from training to a degree but not ‘sense.’ It is something you’re ‘born with’.(I mainly just got the gist of this...)

Since he (G-dragon) has just cracked out of his eggshell, I look forward to the days he is going to grow more. Even though some composers in this society treat him as ‘a kid who doesn’t compose well,’ the differences in the tracks before Ji Yong’s participation and after his participation are very big. Regardless of what people say, without Ji Yong, there wouldn’t be Big Bang’s hit songs.

– side note : when Koreans use the word ’sense,’ they mean it as something more than ‘common sense.’ Like, thinking above everyone or outside the box or just knowing what to needs to be done but more than just ‘acceptable’.

I love the fact that Big Bang actually has a say in everything they do. From their songs, to how they dress etc. Not many mainstream Korean artists do (which I've always thought to be a little bit strange). I guess, its one of the perks of being under the YG Entertainment label...
